Joe McCrea – Associate Director
Joe has nearly two decades of experience working at the highest levels of Whitehall, Westminster and the Regions with politicians, civil servants, journalists and other influential opinion formers.
Joe joined Cogitamus from heading-up Central Government consulting for a Top 5 global consultancy firm. He previously worked as an adviser in the 10 Downing Street Policy Unit, and subsequently served as a member of the civil service Senior Management Team in the Cabinet Office. He is a former Special Adviser to the Secretary of State for Health.
During his time in Westminster and Whitehall Joe designed and executed political, media and campaign strategies including senior level involvement in the planning and execution of three General Election campaigns, planning, design and execution of a series of Department of Health campaigns, Opposition campaigns on the water industry, transport, the national minimum wage and local government reform, and cross-party campaigns.
Joe also has significant experience of advising pressure groups fighting local and issue-specific campaigns.
Building on his expertise gained in the public and private sectors, Joe is leading the ongoing development of the Cogitamus knowledge management system.
