John Conmy – Senior Consultant (Europe)
Brussels-based, John represents Cogitamus and its clients in Europe, providing insight into the workings of the European Union and senior level counsel to achieve specific objectives in a complex environment. His expertise covers senior level consultancy in the energy, transport, environment, telecoms and financial sectors. He also has extensive in-house experience, gained within the energy sector and local government.
John’s skills have been deployed effectively on programmes including: running numerous long-term EU legislative lobbying campaigns on environmental, economic and social policy proposals, with outstanding results and devising and leading many strategic EU affairs initiatives, displaying great creativity and accruing genuine long term value for those he represents.
John has also worked towards encouraging a number of MEP dialogues with the Commission; attracting two commissioners and numerous MEPs to the UK for various specific events and purposes; arranging industry/commissioner joint platforms in Brussels; staging a massively successful (’over-subscribed’) European Parliament Dinner Debate; and conceiving, drafting and leading a high level public affairs and media campaign that changed the Energy Chapter of the draft EU Constitution.
John was previously a civil servant and industrial sales representative, and has an MBA from Imperial College Business School.
